I wanted to post some WIPs ~works in progress~ from some of my old ~not that old (TTωTT)~ drawings I made for contests on DeviantArt. ^^

I totally loved the green color and the rainbow. But that only until I actually finished the drawing. That always happens to me. While I work on it, I think I really like it, but after I see the finished version, I start thinking that I could have done better. But I think all the artists out there are like that, so I'm not gonna complain anymore. UU
It was so pink and cute and stuff. :"3 I still like the eyes and the strawberries. After I scanned it, it looked better than I expected, what can I say. But I'm still going to work hard~!! ('-'*)
You're right,that green really looks great.Somehow I didn't get to realize that it was coloured so awesome when I saw the finished picture on deviantArt.It looks better in the photo.I guess the scanners just screw up the colours.

ReplyDeleteI like how Lucille looks in the end too. She looks like strawberry ice cream. And about the one with Shizuka , I think you should have coloured the sky brighter ,using another hue of blue . That sky looks too cloudy , and doesn't fit anymore with the rainbow .
And I'd also like to ask you something. Are you colouring the background , and the rest over the background ? I mean , do you do the lineart , and start painting above like this : sky > rainbow and flowers > skin > clothes > hair ? Or something ...
Sorry for disturbing you with my stupid critiques . I never paint , so I don't know how hard it is >.> . Sorry , hope I didn't annoy too much .
Yeah, I know right!! I didn't want to do the sky in the first place, just clouds and clouds..and stuff...I don't know, it looked different in my head. TTwTT
DeleteAnd yeah, it's hard to paint with watercolors, if you aren't careful and quick, you can mess up everything. Believe me, I know from experience >.<. But I still love watercolors :3.
Well, I don't know what you mean, but here I go. I paint the hair and clothes first, then the skin, then the small details in the background and then the big background. I hope you understand ><
And don't worry, you're not annoying at all!
So the idea to draw the rainbow and the sky came later ? Ow , this kinda explaines everything XD ! Sorry !!! I know how it is , it happens to me too ! Actually , when I start drawing , I have no idea what to draw , so I always screw up with it :s

No need to say sorry ^^ Whenever I start drawing something, new ideas come in my head and I end up going with them, not with the first plan I made. It happens to anybody.
